Grilled swordfish with citrus salsa is a flavorful and refreshing dish that features juicy and tender swordfish steaks grilled to perfection and served with a tangy and zesty salsa made with fresh citrus fruits. It’s a perfect dish for seafood lovers who enjoy bright and vibrant flavors.
Ingredients:
Method:
- 4 swordfish steaks (about 6-8 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed orange juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 orange, peeled and diced
- 1 grapefruit, peeled and diced
- 1 small red onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeno, seeds removed and finely diced
- 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, and orange juice to create a marinade for the swordfish.
Season the swordfish steaks with salt and pepper on both sides, then brush them with the marinade.
In a separate bowl, combine all the ingredients for the citrus salsa, including diced orange, grapefruit, red onion, jalapeno, cilantro, lemon juice, orange juice, honey, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
Place the swordfish steaks on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and have grill marks on each side. Avoid overcooking, as swordfish can become dry if cooked for too long.
Once the swordfish is cooked, remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
Serve the grilled swordfish steaks hot, topped with the citrus salsa on top or on the side.
Enjoy!
